Matthew 12:33 "Either make the tree good and its fruit good, or make the tree bad and its fruit bad; for a tree is known by its fruit. 34 Brood of vipers! How can you speak good things when you are evil? For the mouth speaks from the overflow of the heart. 35 A good man produces good things from his storeroom of good, and an evil man produces evil things from his storeroom of evil. 36 I tell you that on the day of judgment people will have to account for every careless word they speak. 37 For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned."
Also said in Psalm 15 I read yesterday, we need to watch our tongue.
Matthew: 12:43 "When an unclean spirit comes out of a man, it roams through waterless places looking for rest but doesn't find any. 44 Then it says, 'I'll go back to my house that I came from.' And when it arrives, it finds [the house] vacant, swept, and put in order. 45 Then off it goes and brings with it seven other spirits more evil than itself, and they enter and settle down there. As a result, that man's last condition is worse than the first. That's how it will also be with this evil generation."
This proves how much we need Holy Spirit dwelling and occupying our heart (house) so that the evil spirits cannot go in.
Psalm 16
Confidence in the LORD
1 Protect me, God, for I take refuge in You.
2 I said to the LORD, "You are my Lord;
I have no good besides You."
3 As for the holy people who are in the land,
they are the noble ones in whom is all my delight.
4 The sorrows of those who take another [god]
for themselves multiply;
I will not pour out their drink offerings of blood,
and I will not speak their names with my lips.
5 LORD, You are my portion
and my cup [of blessing];
You hold my future.
6 The boundary lines have fallen for me
in pleasant places;
indeed, I have a beautiful inheritance.
7 I will praise the LORD who counsels me —
even at night my conscience instructs me.
8 I keep the LORD in mind always.
Because He is at my right hand,
I will not be shaken.
9 Therefore my heart is glad,
and my spirit rejoices;
my body also rests securely.
10 For You will not abandon me to Sheol;
You will not allow Your Faithful One to see the Pit.
11 You reveal the path of life to me;
in Your presence is abundant joy;
in Your right hand are eternal pleasures.
What a beautiful song! What confident we have in the Lord! It is so encouraging!
Proverbs 3: 27 When it is in your power,Don't hesitate to do good. Don't tend to do bad. Sometimes in our life, we feel the things are so unfair because the evil wicked people get their way and become rich and powerful on the earth. But here, God explicitly says here: Don't envy them because what they have done are detestable to the Lord. Stay upright, the Lord is our friend.
don't withhold good from the one to whom it is due.
28 Don't say to your neighbor, "Go away! Come back later.
I'll give it tomorrow"—when it is there with you.
29 Don't plan any harm against your neighbor,
for he trusts you and lives near you.
30 Don't accuse anyone without cause,
when he has done you no harm.
31 Don't envy a violent man
or choose any of his ways;
32 for the devious are detestable to the LORD,
but He is a friend to the upright.
