Bible Reading of the day (Jan. 27th)

Ex 4:1-5:21, Matt 18:1-22, Ps 22:19-31, Pr 5:15-21

24At a lodging place on the way the LORD met him and sought to put him to death. 25Then Zipporah took a flint and cut off her son’s foreskin and touched Moses’ feet with it and said, "Surely you are a bridegroom of blood to me!" 26So he let him alone. It was then that she said, "A bridegroom of blood," because of the circumcision.

Don't understand. Why all the sudden the Lord tried to kill Moses? And because he didn't circumcise his sons? What's the connection here, seems too sudden for me.

Matt 18:4 Whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

Matt 18:20For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them."

Ps 22: 21Save me from the mouth of the lion!
You have rescued me from the horns of the wild oxen!
